Notre Dame football is almost definitely College Football Playoff-bound, with a 12-0 record entering this weekend. While Championship Saturday will have a huge impact on the Playoff picture, Notre Dame should be close to locked in, unless the selection committee shocks everyone.
Don’t expect the Fighting Irish to fall off soon, either.
Notre Dame may not become a Playoff mainstay like Alabama and Clemson, but Brian Kelly’s recruiting efforts going forward look promising.
Right now, the Notre Dame football recruiting class for 2019 is ranked No. 10 in the country.
The Fighting Irish staff filled most of the staff early, adding just three of the 21 members of the class since the beginning of October.
It is unclear how many more players that Kelly and company can add as of now. This week, they were playing some defense.
On Tuesday, Kelly and defensive coordinator Mike Elston were in Texas to visit with four-star defensive end
NaNa Osafo-Mensah and four-star defensive tackle Hunter Spears, both of whom committed to ND in the first half of 2018, per 247.
They’re among 10 players who are expected to be early enrollees.

The No. 10 ranking for the Notre Dame class is the same that it finished with last recruiting cycle. The 2020 class is also off to a strong start, with a trio of blue-chip commits set to enter the fold next year.
