Virginia Tech has announced that next Saturday’s home contest against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish is set for an 8:00 PM kickoff.
Previously, there was a hold on announcing the kickoff time between 3:30 or 8:00 PM.
The Hokies, who have had back-to-back road contests over the past two weeks, will return to Lane Stadium on Saturday, October 6, and will welcome Notre Dame to Blacksburg for the first time in school history.
Virginia Tech and Notre Dame have only faced each other once in the past, a 34-31 victory in South Bend two seasons ago.
Virginia Tech (3-1) enters the contest off of a victory over No. 22 Duke while Notre Dame (5-0) heads to town after defeating No. 7 Stanford.
The upcoming contest will mark the third time this season that Virginia Tech has played a night game, kicking off the season opener against Florida State at 8:00 PM and Saturday’s victory over Duke at 7:00 PM.
Virginia Tech is 2-0 this season in games kicking of at or after 7:00 PM, defeating Florida State 24-3 in the opener and Duke 31-14 during Week 5.
