Texas A&M appears to be getting some good news today. Defensive coordinator Mike Elko is staying in College Station.
Elko had reportedly been a candidate for the Temple head coaching vacancy. However, he is staying put, according to multiple reports.
Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports was first with the news.

The 41-year-old Elko is regarded as one of the top defensive coordinators in the country, so this is big news for the Aggies.
Elko arrived at A&M this year after a one-year stint at Notre Dame. He helped the Fighting Irish make massive improvements on defense in 2017, as the program bounced back from a 4-8 campaign in 2016 by winning 10 games.
Elko has also been the defensive coordinator at Bowling Green and Wake Forest.
Texas A&M went 8-4 in the regular season, earning a trip to the Gator Bowl. They will play NC State at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville on December 31.
Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
