Tony Jones Jr. runs it in for the Irish, Notre Dame leads 21-6

After a great defensive effort and a sack by linebacker Drue Tranquill, the ball was coming back to the Notre Dame offense. Chris Finke put the Fighting Irish in great position following a 52-yard punt return. The Irish were in business.

Notre Dame wasted very little time on this drive. Quarterback Ian Book smartly threw the ball away on first down and didn’t force it, which allowed the Irish to get it done on second down. From the three-yard line, running back Tony Jones Jr. showed some toughness and found the end zone, which put Notre Dame up 21-6 with 9:19 left in the first half.
