Prospects Ravens should watch in CFP

The College Football Playoff is right around the corner, which provides us with plenty of 2019 NFL Draft prospects for the Baltimore Ravens to look out for.

The College Football Playoff has been one of the best decisions the NCAA has ever made for the sport. While we certainly hope it eventually extends to eight teams over four, it’s nice to see some parity and better competition in bowl games that actually matter. It also means that these games are absolutely loaded with talent for the 2019 NFL Draft.

The 2019 NFL Draft is typically regarded as a weak one by many pundits. With that being said, it is extremely strong on defense, an area the Baltimore Ravens must improve on and get younger with. The teams in this year’s CFP possess a plethora of talent defensively, which should have Baltimore’s eyes glued to the screen.

This year’s playoff will include the Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Oklahoma Sooners. Alabama is loaded, as always, on defense but does possess an intriguing running back prospect in Damien Harris. Clemson’s entire defensive line should be watched intently, but you can’t overlook cornerback Trayvon Mullen.

Notre Dame’s talent isn’t top tier, but their seniors Jerry Tillery and Te’von Coney steal the spotlight. Finally, Oklahoma’s most talented players are quarterback, and 2018 Heisman Trophy winner, Kyler Murray and sophomore linebacker Kenneth Murray, both of whom won’t be in the NFL in 2019 (or likely ever for Kyler’s situation). However, their stud wide receiver Marquise Brown might be the best big-play threat in the 2019 NFL Draft.

With so much talent at these four schools, both eligible and ineligible for the 2019 NFL Draft, it’s fairly obviously that the entire NFL, not just Baltimore, will pay extra close attention to these games. Who else besides the few we just mentioned above should the Ravens be scouting intently? Let’s take a closer look…
