The 2018 season didn’t end the way Notre Dame fans would have wanted, and it looks like 2019 isn’t starting any better.
Notre Dame is hosting the NHL Winter Classic between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks today. During the game, the Fighting Irish mascot, the Notre Dame Leprechaun, came out waving a flag.
Unfortunately, while trying to turn around on the ice, the Notre Dame mascot slipped and fell on the ice.

2018 ended on a very sour note for the Fighting Irish as they were trounced by the Clemson Tigers in the Cotton Bowl of the College Football Playoff by a score of 30-3.
It was hard enough for Notre Dame to get into the College Football Playoff going undefeated, but 2019 promises to be an even tougher task.
Next year’s schedule for the Fighting Irish includes road games against Georgia, Michigan, and Stanford.
Eight of the teams on Notre Dame’s schedule for 2019 played in bowl games this season.
As for the Winter Classic, Boston and Chicago are tied 1-1 at 3:16 in the first period.
