In three home games, Notre Dame hasn’t been blowing out competition like many other ranked teams have, but they did earn a Week 1 win over then-No. 14 Michigan, before besting Ball State and Vanderbilt. Wake Forest is 2-1 after taking down Tulane and Towson in their first two games, before most recently losing to Boston College.
Below is all you need to know to watch the action on Saturday.
- Time: 12 p.m. ET
- Location: BB&T Field, Winston-salem, North Carolina
- TV: ABC
- Streaming: WatchESPN
- Odds: Wake Forest opened as 6.5-point underdogs, and the Irish can be found as high as 8-point favorites.
Tony Jones Jr. will have over 200 total yards this week.
I was very impressed with Tony Jones Jr. a week ago. He seemed to find his rhythm and was very patient getting through the holes. This confidence will absolutely carry into this week both as a runner and and receiver out of the backfield. I also think a part of him will realize he will need a big week with the return of Dexter Williams next week. Jones was the man last week and will step up even more this week.
The latest S&P+ rankings have Notre Dame at 17.4 points, and Wake Forest at 3.9 points. That implies a 13.5-point advantage on a neutral field. It’s a home game for Wake Forest, but that advantage probably isn’t enough to account for the talent differential of these two teams.
