Play of the Day: The result of sheer will, toughness, and desire, Drue Tranquill recovers a Trojans fumble inside the Irish 15-yard line, negating a potential touchdown drive that would’ve provided the hosts a 17-7 lead heading into halftime.

Relevant Quote: “This is a red letter day for our program…” — Brian Kelly, four years prior after losing 49-14 to USC at the tail end of an embarrassing four-game losing streak to conclude the 2014 regular season.

Four seasons later, Kelly’s Irish finished 12-0.
