Notre Dame Might Be Starting A New Quarterback On Saturday

Notre Dame’s football program has struggled a lot on offense through the first three weeks of the 2018 season. The Fighting Irish are 3-0, but there is some concern about what we’ve seen under center from Brian Kelly’s team.

A change might be coming at quarterback this weekend.

ESPN’s “Stanford Steve” of Scott Van Pelt’s SportsCenter reported on his podcast this week that he’s hearing a change at quarterback might be coming.

“Speaking of Notre Dame, I have a couple of sources telling me Mr. Book might be starting,” he said. “Just throwing it out there.”

“Why not?” Chris Fallica replied.

Notre Dame’s starting quarterback, Brandon Wimbush, has completed 55 percent of his passes through three games. He’s thrown for 589 yards, 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions.

The Fighting Irish looked pretty good in the Week 1 win over Michigan, but the Fighting Irish barely beat Ball State in Week 2. Notre Dame scraped past Vanderbilt this past weekend.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit said earlier this week that he could see Notre Dame and Wake Forest playing a close contest.

“I think right now, in college football, you’ve got to be able to play offense and defense,” Herbstreit said. “The jury is out on their offense.”
