SOUTH BEND – If the typical year finished now, No. 4 Notre Dame would deal with No. 1 Alabama in one of two countrywide semifinals following the Irish rated fourth in the first Higher education Soccer Playoff committee rankings, introduced Tuesday evening.
Of program, the year does not conclude until early December, leaving a good deal of time for discussion and additional movement in the rankings. Unbeaten Clemson was rated 2nd and LSU (7-1) 3rd in the to start with committee rankings of 2018.
Just outside the major four ended up Michigan and Georgia. The Wolverines’ only reduction came by a touchdown at Notre Dame Stadium in the year opener.
