SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The No. 14 Texas A&M men’s tennis team opposes No. 13 Notre Dame Sunday at 11 a.m. (CT) on Sunday at the Eck Tennis Pavilion. The Aggies are 3-2 this spring although the Combating Irish enter Sunday’s match at 4-.
The Aggies experienced their 2nd straight 4-3 setback Friday night, falling to Texas Tech in Dallas at the SMU Tennis Complicated. Despite the setback the Aggies were buoyed by wins from sophomore Carlos Aguilar, sophomore Barnaby Smith and freshman Austin Abbrat. Aguilar, ranked No. 89 nationally, topped Tech’s Tommy Mylnikov in 3 sets on court docket just one. Smith, ranked No. 50 defeated Pink Raider Ilgiz Valiev on court docket 3 although Abbrat outlasted Tech’s Artem Kapshuk on court docket five.
A season in the past, the Aggies and Combating Irish confronted off in University Station as the Maroon & White claimed a 5-2 get at the Mitchell Tennis Center. Right after earning the doubles point, Texas A&M picked up singles wins from No. 10 Arthur Rinderknech, No. 37 Jordi Arconada, Aguilar and No. 109 AJ Catanzariti.
