Kelly, Joseph seeing two Notre Dame commits on Wednesday

Notre Dame has two defensive back commits from the same area and on Wednesday, head coach Brian Kelly and safeties coach Terry Joseph will be in town checking in on the future Fighting Irish football players.

According to a source, Kelly and Joseph will be in Atlanta, Ga., today to see Marist School four-star safety Kyle Hamilton and Lovett School four-star cornerback K.J. Wallace. Hamilton, has been committed to Notre Dame since Apr. 24, while Wallace chose the Irish way back on Jan. 28. The fact is, Kelly knows exactly how important these two are to this class and he wants both to know how coveted they truly are. That extra bit of effort will go a long way to ensuring both end up Irish.

Wallace, a 5-10, 187-pounder from the class of 2019, committed to Notre Dame over offers from Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Penn State, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, Wisconsin and many others. He is listed by the 247Sports Composite Rankings as the No. 303 overall recruit in the country, No. 32 cornerback nationally and No. 33 prospect in Georgia this cycle. 247Sports lists him in its standalone rankings as the No. 348 recruit this class, No. 35 player at his position and No. 32 target in the Peach State.

Hamilton, a 6-3, 195-pounder from the 2019 class, pledged to the Fighting Irish over offers from Auburn, Baylor, Cincinnati, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Stanford, Tennessee and many others across the country. He is listed by the 247Sports Composite Rankings as the No. 153 overall prospect in the country, No. 14 safety this cycle and No. 19 recruit in the Peach State. 247Sports lists him much higher in its standalone rankings. He’s ranked as the No. 22 prospect in the nation, No. 2 safety this class and No. 5 player in Georgia this class.

In addition to Notre Dame’s dominance on the football field this fall, the Fighting Irish are rolling on the recruiting trail as well. The 2019 group is currently ranked as the No. 11 class in the country per the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings. In addition, this group of defensive back commits is one of the nation’s best. Not only do they have commitments from Hamilton and Wallace, but the Fighting Irish have also secured pledges from four-star safety Litchfield Ajavon and four-star cornerback Isaiah Rutherford.
