A college football game in Texas became a global spectacle, after a video of a huge bald eagle perching on-top of two audience members went viral.

The spectacular occurrence that left everyone surprised happened during an ongoing college football playoff semi-final between Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Clemson Tigers at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The first lucky man, identified as Albert Armas told local media that he was scared when ‘Clark’, the huge bird took hold of his shoulder.

His son, standing right beside him is seen chuckling loudly at his father’s expense in the video.

Interestingly, the eagle did not just land once, but twice in quick succession.

Clark landed on the outstretched arm of Tuyen Nguyen, the second man to get lucky after flying straight onto his arm.

Speaking to local media he said, “When I saw the bird land [on Armas], I thought the bird had to be very tired. So I put my hand out to see what happens. And it landed on me. It was very interesting. I was very excited. It was amazing, I couldn’t even believe it.”

The video shows fellow fans cheering and whipping out their phone sto capture the unusual moment.

The sizeable bird, was apparently meant to fly around the stadium during the national anthem.

Bald eagles have a massive wingspread of about 7 feet (2.13 meters). Their bodies are much smaller, though, at only 34 to 43 inches (86 to 109 centimeters). Normally, bald eagles weigh 6.5 to 14 pounds (3 to 6.5 kilograms).
